Hiking & Mountaineering

The Lodge backs onto the Ecrins National Park which is one of the most spectacular areas in France for hikes, mountaineering and wildlife watching. A short hour and a half hike up from the Lodge takes you to the Lac de Lauvital, a beautiful glacial-fed lake populated by marmots, chamoirs, eagles and the more elusive bucatan. For the more adventurous there are many day hikes or overnight treks where you can stay in a number of stunning catered mountain refuges.
